POLLED HEREFORDS
We are excited to announce that Ade Polled Herefords is back in business with a new generation.
My father Robert Ade was one of the early believers in Polled Herefords starting his herd back in the late 1940’s. Dad believed keeping data on birth weights, weaning and yearling weights were critical to improving his herd and the breed. Our family competed in the show ring and in performance testing producing several champions. We sold both commercial and registered cattle having several satisfied return customers. For those a little older, Dad had the opportunity to sell our herd to Morlunda Farms in West Virginia in the 1970’s to Oskar Nelson retaining our heifer crop when Morlunda Farms were in their prime, but enough about the past!
We are here to talk about the new beginning that my father started many years ago and the new generation that will carry on the tradition of raising top quality Polled Herefords for the future.
Over the years, we have selected some of the top females and sires in the breed to restart our herd. Most importantly we believe our selection in the best quality genetics and pedigree will translate into success for ‘you’ our customers and your herd.
OUR PROGRAM
We started our program by selecting some of the elite females and sires to put us at the top of the list to make an impact in the Hereford and commercial cattle world.
Our first female purchase was from Knoll Crest Farms in their June 2016 online sale KCF MISS X51 Z445. At the time of the sale ranked #8 CBH index dam in the breed and we think she is one of the best producing daughters out of X51.
We also purchased recips from NJW with cow, JWR M41 PRINCESS 167S, and ENCORE one of the top selling cows in the CMR dispersal. Eggs from NJW out of the famed cow, DAYDREAM 73S, the dam of Trust, 10Y, 8Y and many more. Flushes out of some of the top females at Churchill Cattle Company, Churchill Lady 002X, the Dam of Red Bull, Stud, Manhattan and Sure Bet and 2114Z and 1162Y, top producers for Churchill. Eggs from Ellis Farms, FELLISITY X654 and KATE W484, with strong genetics from EFBEEF herd.
We had a unique opportunity in the fall 2016 to purchase from the “Charles E. Boyd Estate Sale” three top cows.

Last but not least, in the summer of 2017 we had the opportunity and privilege to purchase Art and Jean Linton’s herd in Miller, Nebraska. Linton Polled Herefords is one of the top performance herds in the country. The HYALITE prefix in pedigrees can be seen on many top producing bulls and females in the country including Hyalite On Target 017, Hyalite On Target 936, Hyalite Foremost 302 and Hyalite Resource 331, just to name a few.
